The IHO is developing an S-100 compliant Product Specification for the delivery and presentation of navigationally significant surface currents

The International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) is developing an S-100 compliant Product Specification for the delivery and presentation of navigationally significant surface currents. This User Survey is being distributed to guide the IHO’s effort.

For the purposes of the Survey, navigationally significant surface currents are defined as currents in the top 25 metres of water that influence navigational decisions.

The surface current information will be used and displayed with Electronic Navigational Charts (ENCs) in an Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS) or an Electronic Chart System (ECS) as an aid to navigation.
