COURSE PURPOSE
The purpose of this course is to train officers and shipping company personnel in the new digital SIRE 2.0 inspection framework, with a focus on understanding the updated tools, procedures, and evaluation criteria that promote safety, quality, and compliance with international maritime regulations.
COURSE OBJECTIVES AND BENEFITS
1. Familiarization with the SIRE 2.0 System
Introduction to the new digital inspection framework, including tools such as the Compiled Vessel Inspection Questionnaire (CVIQ), the Harmonised Vessel Particulars Questionnaire (HVPQ), and the Pre-Inspection Questionnaire (PIQ).
2. Understanding the Updated Inspection Procedures
Analysis of the SIRE 2.0 inspection phases: pre-inspection, physical inspection, and report submission — with emphasis on accuracy, reliability, and adaptability.
3. Human Factors Awareness
Training on the importance of human element considerations in safety and quality performance, and how these affect crew competency and task execution.
4. Implementation of Best Practices and Regulatory Compliance
