COURSE OBJECTIVES AND BENEFITS
This course is intended to provide introductory training on the theory and practice of Dynamic Positioning which follows the recommendations contained in the IMO and the IMCA guidelines.
Objective:
Provide the participants with knowledge and practical use of dynamic positioning in order to enable him to:
-operate DP systems to the standards and guidelines specified by international regulatory authorities and recognized by institutions in the industry
-set up and operate various DP systems
-recognize alarms and warnings
-understand the use and limitations of position reference systems and other sensors and systems interfaced to the DP

-General principles
-Elements of a DP system
-Position reference systems and other sensors
-Practical demonstration and operation of a DP system
-DP vessel operations including hazards associated with certain types of operations
-Power generation, distribution and management DP watchkeeping and watch handover procedures
